Valparaiso University’s Tabitha Gerardot (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury H.S.) has been voted to the Academic All-Horizon League Team in balloting done by the league’s faculty athletics representatives and sports information directors.

The lone sophomore on the five-member squad, Gerardot led Valparaiso in scoring with 13.0 points per game in 2011-2012, and pulled down 6.8 rebounds per contest, second on the roster.  She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Omni Hotels Classic hosted by Colorado, and tallied four double-doubles on the season.

Gerardot, a member of Christ College, Valparaiso’s honors college, has a 3.90 cumulative grade point average as a French and Spanish double major.  She was named to the Horizon League’s Academic Honor Roll during the fall and just earned Valparaiso University’s Presidential Academic Honors for student-athletes.

To be eligible for Academic All-Horizon League consideration, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher and have completed at least one year at the member institution, having earned 24 semester hours.
