Junior forward Tabitha Gerardot (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury) received Horizon League Player of the Week honors for the third time this season in helping the Crusaders split a pair of games against Wright State and Cleveland State.

Gerardot recorded her sixth double-double of the season against the Raiders, scoring a team-high 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. She scored 12 of her points in the second half and in doing so, became just the 13th Crusader to surpass 1000 points for her Valparaiso career.

In a 92-84 overtime win against Cleveland State on Saturday, Gerardot scored 32 points and grabbed a career-best 19 rebounds for her seventh-double of the season (20th career). She finished 12-of-25 from the field and scored 21 of her points after halftime, including 11 of Valparaiso’s 17 points in overtime.

It was the second time in the last four games that Gerardot has scored at least 30 points, after posting 33 against Milwaukee on Jan. 24.

Gerardot and the Crusaders (8-12, 3-4 HL) return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 9 when they close out the first half of Horizon League play at Detroit at 1 p.m. CT.
