Valparaiso University head basketball coach Keith Freeman has announced the hiring of Andrea Bloodworth as an assistant coach heading into the 2005-2006 season.

Bloodworth arrives at Valpo after serving as an assistant basketball coach and recruiting coordinator at Gannon University since 2002. She has also served as an assistant coach at Armstrong Atlantic State University for two seasons as well as garnering has coaching experience as an assistant at both Lake Michigan Community College and Ferris State University.

?Andrea comes from a great coaching family and has benefited from having worked for several very good coaches," Freeman said. ?In addition to outstanding character, Andrea brings a wealth of knowledge to our basketball program."

Bloodworth will begin her duties with the Crusader program on June 27.

Freeman also announced that Christian Papp has been promoted from his graduate assistant position to an assistant coach for the upcoming season. Meredith Baugher, who graduated from the Valpo program this past spring, will move into the graduate assistant spot.
