Frederick Nominated for McDonald’s All-American Game

Valparaiso University women’s basketball incoming freshman Shay Frederick (Greenville, Wis. / Hortonville High School) has been nominated for the 2018 McDonald’s All-American Game.

Frederick, a high school senior who signed her National Letter of Intent in November to play for the Crusaders, is one of five players from the state of Wisconsin on the nomination list.

A three-star recruit according to ESPN, Frederick averaged 16.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists as a junior last season. This year as a senior, she owns a scoring average of 17 points per game to go along with five assists and four rebounds per contest.

The list includes players who have been selected by high school coaches, athletic directors and principals and members of the McDonald’s All-American Selection Committee. Final rosters for the game will be announced on Tuesday, Jan. 16. The 17th Annual McDonald’s All-American Girls Game will tip off at 4 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 28 on ESPN2.
