Crusaders Sweep League Scholar-Athlete of the Week Accolades

Valpo Women Set for Christmas City Classic

Aimee Litka ranks among the  top three-point shooters in the country.
After taking eight days off for the Christmas holiday, the Valparaiso University Crusaders will return to the hardwood on Monday as the Brown and Gold battle La Salle in the opening round of the Christmas City Classic hosted by Lehigh.  The Crusaders are looking to move over the .500 and advance to the championship game of a tournament for the second time this year.  The host Mountain Hawks will face North Florida in the second game of the day....Full Story

Valparaiso rallied from a 12-point first half deficit, and took a three-point lead with 6:50 to play, but Notre Dame held off the Crusaders’ upset bid closing the game with a 17-6 run as the eighth-ranked Fighting Irish defeated the Brown and Gold 63-55 on Saturday afternoon in front of more than 2,000 fans at the Athletics-Recreation Center....Full Story

Valparaiso University’s women’s basketball program, known for their success both on the court and in the classroom, finished the 2007-2008 school year ranked 24th in the nation in NCAA Division I for team grade point average.  This is the 10th straight season the Crusaders’ team has been ranked in the top-25 on the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Honor Roll.  The Crusaders finished 12th in the country for Division I in team grade point average one year ago in 2005-2006....Full Story
