The #14 Valparaiso bowling team sits in ninth place after the second day of action at the Crusader Classic, being contested at Inman's in Valparaiso.
Bowling six traditional team games on Saturday, Valpo posted a total pinfall of 5,364 to end the day in ninth place out of the 14 competing teams. Central Missouri went undefeated on Saturday and sits atop the team standings at 5,892 pins.
The Crusaders went 3-3 on Saturday. Valpo opened the day with a 947-803 victory over UAB, led by a 227 game from sophomore Raychel Wolever (Charlotte, Mich./Charlotte), and followed with a 967-956 victory over #6 Sam Houston State, as freshman Alyssa Meade (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) rolled the Crusaders' best game of the day, a 230. Valpo also won its fourth match of the day, 932-912, paced by games of 222 from senior Jill Larson (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville) and 211 from Wolever.
Valparaiso (11-13) closes out hosting of the Crusader Classic on Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.
