Valpo Women Compete at Wisconsin-Parkside

Valparaiso's women's cross country team finished in 17th place at the Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational held on Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.

Those Crusaders that did not run at the Pre-NCAA Meet competed in the invitational, and scored 481 points for the Brown and Gold. Indiana Wesleyan won the meet with 84 points.

Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall H.S.) led the Brown and Gold with a time of 20:32 over five-kilometers, placing 93rd overall. Kelly Owens (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) was nine spots behind Billstrom with a time of 20:40.

Kristy Popp (Bowman, N.D./Bowman H.S.) was third across the finish line for the Crusaders in a time of 20:54, while Michelle Sexton (Hoffman Estates, Ill./Driscoll Catholic H.S.) was fourth with a time of 21:12. Tami McDunn (Farmington, Minn./Farmington H.S.) rounded out the scorers for the Brown and Gold with a time of 22:33.
