For the second straight year, Jessica Richardson (Columbus, Ind./North) leaves the Horizon League Championships as a Women's First Team All-League recipient. The junior averaged 6:03 per mile Saturday in the women's 5K held at Boardman High School in Ohio. The 18:49.19 finish was good for seventh place in the race of 94 runners. Last season, Richardson earned the same distinction with a 4th-place finish at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Sophomore Dezzarae Arce (Orland Park, Ill./Victor J. Andrew) completed the course in 19:45.16, good for 30th place. Fellow sophomore Hannah Schilling (Fraser, Mich./Lutheran North) finished roughly 30 seconds behind Arce at 20:14.09. Seniors Claire Johnson (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) and Grace Shemwell (Clinton, Iowa/Clinton) finished in 51st and 52nd place with 20:31.07 and 20:36.29 times, respectively.

As a team, the Crusaders earned 7th place.

On the men's half, junior David Rutkowski (Cedarburg, Wis./Living Word Lutheran) paced the Crusaders with a 20th place finish. Rutkowski recorded a time of 26:43.09 in the 8K run. 

Senior Matt Przybyla (Whitmore Lake, Mich./Pinckney) stopped the clock at 27:36.84, two seconds ahead of teammate Dan Walters (Crown Point, Ind./Crown Point). Pryzbyla and Walters registered 41st and 42nd place results, respectively.

Freshman Adam Bruno (Bloomington, Ill./Normal) turned in a 48th-place finish with a time of 28:01.96. Fellow freshman Jesse Greenhagen (Waverly, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) rounded out the scoring for Valpo, crossing the line at 28:40.13. 

The men's team also walked away with 7th place at the Horizon League Championships.

The lone event left on the slate is the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The race will be held in Madison, Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 15th.
