Senior Jessica Richardson (Columbus, Ind./North) has been named the Horizon League Runner of the Week following her top-three finish at the Western Invitational in London, Ontario, Canada on Saturday.

Richardson led the Crusaders with a 17:59 in the 5K at Thames Valley Golf Course to finish third out of 111 runners. Her time is just nine seconds off her career-best, which she set in 2012 at the Notre Dame Invite. Her times have led the Crusaders through their two races on the season.

The award is Richardson’s fourth of her career and first this season. She last won the award after running a 23:29.84 at the prestigious and challenging Van Coutland Park in Iona Meet of Champions last September.

The Brown and Gold return to action in two weeks when they compete in the Notre Dame Invite on October 3. Race time is scheduled for 1 pm CT.
