Hole 16 at the Course at Aberdeen, which will host the Chi-po Classic this fall.

Valparaiso University’s women’s golf team will host its first tournament since the program was founded with the Chi-po Classic being held Sept. 19-20 at the Course at Aberdeen.

Head coach Mat Blair has announced the Crusaders’ schedule which has the Brown and Gold competing in five different events during the fall, including the home event.  The Chi-po Classic is an event that will be hosted by Valparaiso and Chicago State on opposite years.  This year’s field tentatively has 14 schools participating in the 36-hole event.  Horizon League members Butler, Green Bay, Loyola (Chicago), and UIC are all slated to compete.

Valpo’s fall schedule opens Sept. 10-11 at the IU Fall Kickoff in Bloomington, Ind. before heading to the Green Bay Invitational.  After hosting the Chi-po Classic, the Crusaders will head to the Butler Fall Invitational Oct. 3-4 before wrapping up the fall tournament schedule two weeks later at the Dayton Invitational.
