Crusader golf teams announce spring 2013 schedules
The Crusader golf teams announced their schedules for the spring 2013 season.

Valparaiso University men’s golf coach David Gring and women’s coach Mat Blair have announced their schedules for the upcoming spring 2013 season.

The Valpo men will compete in four tournaments before the Horizon League Championship. Gring’s team will compete for five straight weeks.

The Crusaders open the season the spring season on March 29 and 30 at the Beu Mussatto Invitational in Macomb, Ill., which is hosted by Western Illinois. The following week, Valpo heads to Peoria, Ill. to compete in the Hotels at Grand Prairie Invitational, hosted by Bradley.

Valparaiso then heads to Highland, Mich. for the Detroit Titans Invitational April 12-13. The Crusaders then visit Raleigh, N.C. to compete in North Carolina State’s Wolfpack Spring Open on April 20-21.  

The season culminates in the Horizon League Championship at the Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. on April 26-28, with the winner claiming an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Championships.

On the women’s side, the Crusaders will compete in three tournaments before the HL Championship.

Valpo opens the season by hosting the Crusaders Spring Invitational at ChampionsGate in Orlando, Fla. on March 4-5.

After a three-week break, the Crusaders head to the IPFW Spring Invitational in Fort Wayne, Ind on March 31 and April 1. Two weeks later, Valparaiso will compete in the Indiana Invitational on April 13-14 in Bloomington, Ind.

The season ends with the Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort on April 26-28 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. The winner of that tournament will earn the Horizon League’s automatic bid to the NCAA Regional Championships.
