The Valparaiso women’s golf team concluded their Florida spring break trip on Thursday at the Bulldog Florida Invitational in Jacksonville. The Crusaders finished fifth with a second round score of 323, a 14 stroke improvement from Wednesday, with a final score of 660.
Sibil Gill (Kokomo, Ind./Western) improved by six strokes to finish the round with a 76 and a two-day score of 158, a season best for 36 holes, as she jumped six spots and ended the tournament in a tie for fourth place.
Angie Kim (Schaumburg, Ill./Fremd) carded an 81 for a 36-hole of 163, one stroke off her season best, to finish in a tie for 13th.
Sydney Shrum (Cloverdale, Ind./Cloverdale) improved by five strokes to shoot an season best round 81 and a season-best 36-hole tournament score of 167 and finished in a tie for 20th.
Annie Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger) shot an 85 (172) to finish in a tie for 28th.
Kiana Jongsma (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central) and A.J. Selig (Hortonville, Wis./Appleton West) rounded the Crusader scoring with rounds of 86 and 91 to finish in 37th (178) and 40th (189), respectively.
Valpo returns to the links on April 5 with a short trip east to Fort Wayne for the IPFW Spring Classic at Pine Valley Country Club.
