Women’s Golf Finalizes Fall Slate

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team has announced its fall competition schedule for the first season under head coach Jill McCoy.

Valpo will crank up the campaign by participating in the Golfweek Program Challenge from Sept. 9-11 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. before making its way to Flossmoor, Ill. for the Loyola Fall Invitational on Sept. 17-18.

Valpo will host this year’s Missouri Valley Conference Fall Preview at Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton. The two-day event will begin on Monday, Oct. 15 and will serve as an opportunity for the 10 MVC teams to familiarize themselves with the course that will serve as the site for the MVC Championship in April – the first MVC Championship event that Valpo will host in any sport.

The final tournament of the fall season will be the Braun Intercollegiate in Evansville, Ind. on Oct. 22-23. This will mark the seventh straight season Valpo has competed in that event.

McCoy assumes leadership of a program that enjoyed one of its best seasons in 2017–2018, finishing with a team scoring average that ranked fourth all-time. The team finished the season strong, setting season lows three straight rounds in the MVC Championship.
