Valparaiso University women’s golf senior Payton Hodson (Middleton, Wis. / Middleton) was recognized with Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention as the league office announced its scholar-athlete honors on Wednesday.


Eichenauer, Fay Golf Sub-80 Rounds on Season’s Final Day

A pair of Valparaiso University women’s golfers turned in sub-80 scores on Tuesday as the Beacons closed out the 2021-2022 season with the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, hosted at the par-71, 5830-yard Greenbriar Country Club in Kirkwood, Mo. Kelsey Eichenauer (North Manchester, Ind. / Manchester) turned in the team’s top score, followed closely by freshman Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills).


Fay Posts Valpo’s Top Score on Day 2 at MVC Championship

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team was led by freshman Anna Fay (Ada, Mich. / Forest Hills), who posted the team’s top 18-hole score on Monday at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. The team competed in the middle round of the three-round event at the par-71, 5830-yard Greenbriar Hills Country Club course in Kirkwood, Mo.

Keil Leads Valpo at Redbird Spring Invitational

The Valparaiso University women’s golf team competed in its final event prior to the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Saturday at the par-72, 6034-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill. The Beacons were led by Madison Keil (LaGrange, Ind. / Lakeland) as the entirety of the 36-hole event was played on Saturday after weather conditions caused the cancellation of Friday’s round and shortened the tournament from 54 holes to 36.


Kier Turns in Career Best in Round 2 at Indiana State

Senior Morgan Kier (Brownsburg, Ind. / Brownsburg) turned in the best round of her collegiate career on Monday, leading the Valparaiso University women’s golf team on the final day of the Indiana State Invitational, played at the par-72, 6041-yard Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.

For the second time in three tournaments this fall, the Valparaiso University women’s golf team has put together a 54-hole tournament performance better than any in program history prior to this season. The Valparaiso University women’s golf team started the 2021-2022 season in record-setting fashion at this weekend’s Redbird Invitational, which concluded on Monday at the par-72, 6022-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill. Valpo closed out the weekend with its best round of the event, in the process polishing off a new program record for 54-hole team score, both overall and in relation to par.

Rooker led the way for the Beacons, who utilized a lineup comprised of two newcomers and three returning players for the first tournament of the season – the Redbird Invitational, hosted by Illinois State at the par-72, 6022-yard Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Ill.
