Led by Emily King's (Colona, Ill./United Township H.S.) selection to the Mid-Con First Team, four Valparaiso Crusaders were named to the All Mid-Continent Conference Teams at the league's championship banquet on Thursday evening.

Lindsay Holley (Waldorf, Md./Westlake H.S.), Erin Murray (Pleasanton, Calif./Amador Valley H.S.), and Allison Swanson (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley H.S.) each earned Second Team All Mid-Con honors.

King, a Second Team selection in 2003, has been a standout defender for the Crusaders this season. The junior has scored three times, including a match-winner, while adding an assist from the back. Defensively, she has helped put Valpo on pace to set a school record for lowest goals against average in school history.

Holley is the team's leading scorer on the season. Her five goals and five assists for 15 points this year include a match-winning tally. Valpo's all-time career assist leader with 13, the senior is also tied for fourth with ten career goals.

Murray has been a solid freshman goalkeeper for the Crusaders this season. Her 1.38 goals against average is on pace to set a new school single season mark. She has tallied a 7-7-2 record, making saves as a .781 rate on the year. Her five shutouts between the posts have tied Valpo's single season record, and place her in a tie for second on the Crusaders' all-time chart already.

Swanson has led the Valpo midfielders this season. Tied with Holley for the team lead with five goals on the year, she has added three assists for 13 points. The junior has notched a pair of match-winners for the Brown and Gold this season, and her three career winners are tied for third most in school history.

Valparaiso (9-7-2, 3-3 Mid-Con) enters the Mid-Con Tournament on Friday as the third seed, and will play Centenary in the semifinals beginning at 1:30 p.m. in Rochester, Mich.
