Three Crusaders Earn All-Horizon League Honors
Jackie Thomas is a four-time All-Conference selection.

Valparaiso University had three players earn postseason honors from the Horizon League when the conference announced its annual award winners on Wednesday.  Jackie Thomas (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley Northwest H.S.) was named to the Horizon League First Team and Kendall Brown (Lake Zurich, Ill./Carmel Catholic H.S.) earned Second Team All-League accolades.  Tracy Roos (Centennial, Colo./Cherry Creek H.S.) was named to the All-Newcomer Team

Thomas, a four-time All-Conference selection, earned Second Team All-Horizon League honors last season after earning First Team All Mid-Continent Conference accolades her first two seasons.  This year the senior leads Valpo with three goals, two of which were match-winners, and has helped anchor a defense which has allowed just 14 goals in 18 matches.  She has started all 75 matches in her career, and her 11 career goals are tied for eighth all-time in school history.

Brown has earned her second All-Conference honor after being named Second Team All Mid-Continent Conference as a freshman.  A forward, she has scored two goals and added four assists for a team-leading eight points.  The senior’s 20 career goals rank third in school history and her 12 assists are second most ever at Valpo.

Roos has started all 18 matches during her freshman season with the Brown and Gold.  She has helped lead the Valpo defense with Thomas, as the Crusaders have posted a 0.75 goals against average on the season, currently the lowest in school history.  She has helped Valpo record a school-record nine shutouts in 18 matches this season.
