Crusader Soccer Teams Earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

For the tenth consecutive year, both the Valparaiso men’s soccer and women’s soccer teams were awarded with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, as announced by the organization on Friday.

The award is presented to soccer programs annually with a composite grade point average of 3.00 or better for the academic year, including both fall and spring semesters.  The award is for the previous academic year, making this year’s award for the 2011-2012 school year.

The Crusader women’s squad posted a team GPA of 3.35 during the 2011-2012 school year, while the men’s team recorded a team GPA of 3.17.  All eight Horizon League women’s soccer programs earned the team academic honor, while Valpo’s men were joined by Detroit, Loyola and Wright State in receiving the award.
