Sunday, November 3, 2002
Heather Sorgatz's goal with just 41 seconds left lifted Loyola to a 2-1 victory over Valparaiso on Senior Day at Eastgate Field on Sunday afternoon.

Sortgatz found the back of the net from 20 yards out through traffic to give the Ramblers the win.

Valpo got on the scoreboard first at the 39:11 mark as Lori Moore (Dyer, Ind./Lake Central H.S.) took advantage of a defensive miscue and connected on her eighth goal of the season.

The Crusaders held the advantage at intermission, but the Ramblers tied the match just 2:35 into the second half. Katie Koning lifted a shot just over Danielle Guerra (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) for her third tally of the year.

Loyola outshot the Crusaders 20-11 for the match, holding a 10-3 advantage on net. Guerra made eight saves for the Brown and Gold, while Erica Pedini made two saves for the Ramblers.

Valpo (5-12-1) will return to action on Friday evening when they travel to Tulsa, Okla. to face Oakland in the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament semifinals.
