Valparaiso's women's soccer team snapped a two-match losing skid with a 2-0 victory over IPFW on Sunday afternoon at Eastgate Field.

Emily King (Colona, Ill./United Township H.S.) put the Crusaders in front at the 36:29 mark of the first half, finding the top right corner of the goal off of a free kick from 25 yards out.

Jennifer Bartels (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) added an insurance goal at the 59:41 mark in the second half after taking a Lindsay Holley (Waldorf, Md./Westlake H.S.) cross and beating Mastodons, goalkeeper Rachel Poor. Holley's assist was her sixth of the season, setting a new Valpo single-season assist record.

Danielle Guerra (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) made five saves in goal for the Brown and Gold, logging her first shutout of the season and the second of her career. Poor made two stops for IPFW (4-6-3).

IPFW outshot the Crusaders 13-9 in the match and held a 5-4 advantage on goal. Neither team had a corner kick opportunity in the match.

Valparaiso (3-9) will return to action next Friday evening when the Crusaders travel to Indianapolis for a 7 p.m. match at IUPUI.
