Valparaiso University's Jen Bartels (Muskegon, Mich./Mona Shores H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Offensive Player of the Week following the Crusaders' 6-1 victory over Cleveland State on Sunday.

The sophomore tied a school record with three assists against the Vikings increasing her season total to five. Bartels had a hand in Amy Miller's (Fort Wayne, Ind./Lakota West H.S., Ohio) tally in the 44th minute and Jennifer Wegehaupt's (Omaha, Neb./Burke H.S.) goal in the 86th minute. Her final helper came in the 89th minute on a corner kick that Brittany Derksen (Chugiak, Alaska/Chugiak H.S.) headed home.

Valpo will return to action on Friday evening as the Crusaders travel to Shreveport, La. to face Centenary in a 7 p.m. match.
