Women’s Soccer Adds Jameson Kronser as Graduate Assistant


The Valparaiso University women’s soccer program announced that former Wisconsin goalkeeper Jameson Kronser has joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant as the program heads into the 2017 season.


Valparaiso University to Join Missouri Valley Conference


Valparaiso University president Mark A. Heckler, Ph.D., announced today that the University has accepted an invitation to join the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2017. The Crusaders will begin competing for MVC championships in the 2017–2018 academic year.


Longino Joins Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff


Valparaiso University women’s soccer head coach John Marovich announced today that Katelyn Longino has joined the Crusaders as an assistant coach. Longino comes to Valpo after spending last season on the coaching staff at Xavier University.


Cronin Earns Scholar All-Region Accolade


Valparaiso University women’s soccer senior April Cronin (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) has been named to the NSCAA Scholar All-North/Central Region Second Team for her work on the field and in the classroom, as announced today by the NSCAA. It is the second straight season Cronin has received Second Team Scholar All-Region honors.


Crusaders Suffer Heartbreak In League Tournament Opener


The Valparaiso University women’s soccer team claimed a 2-0 lead in the first round of the Horizon League Championship Monday night in Rochester Hills, Mich. thanks to goals with three minutes of either side of halftime from freshman Maria Broecker (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester), but Oakland rallied with three second-half goals to send the Crusaders to a 3-2 defeat.


Quartet Of Crusaders Earn All-League Honors


Four Valparaiso University women’s soccer players were honored on Monday as the Horizon League announced its postseason award recipients. Senior April Cronin (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South) represented the Crusaders on the All-League First Team, while sophomore Cory Griffith (Lemont, Ill./Providence Catholic) was a Second Team selection. In addition, Ava Porlier (Downers Grove, Ill./South) and Ali Quillen (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) were both named to the league’s All-Freshman Team.

The win was the 79th in the career of head coach John Marovich, making him the winningest head coach in program history.
