Quillen Honored in MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight

Ali Quillen (Beavercreek, Ohio/Beavercreek) received recognition for her academic prowess on Wednesday as the Valpo women's soccer senior was featured in the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Enterprise Bank and Trust Company.

Quillen currently holds a 3.94 grade point average as an exercise science major, with a minor in biology as well. She has received the Valpo Outstanding Student-Athlete Award each of the last two years and has earned Valpo Presidential Academic Honors both years as well. Quillen also has been honored with the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award each of the last two years.

Quillen works as a peer tutor on campus and is a chemsitry learning assistant as well. She also is a member of the campus Kin Club and works as part of a research team focusing on EMG studies.

To qualify for the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, student-athletes must carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.20, completed at least one academic year at a Valley institution and must be at least a sophomore in academic standing. The Valley honors one male and one female student-athlete each week throughout the year.
