Valpo soccer junior Nicole Norfolk (Menomonee Falls, Wis./Divine Savior Holy Angels) was recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference on Wednesday as a featured student-athlete in the latest edition of the conference's Scholar-Athlete Spotlight.

Norfolk carries a 3.945 GPA as a chemistry and biology double major. She received Valpo Presidential Academic Honors last year, has twice earned the MVC Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award and has twice been named to the MVC Honor Roll.

Norfolk, who was named biochemistry Student of the Year last academic year, serves on the biochemistry research team and is an organic chemistry help session tutor.

Norfolk is active in the student-athlete Bible study on campus. Outside of campus, Norfolk was part of a mission trip with Hope of the Poor to Native American reservations in Nebraska.
