Heather Clark joined the Valparaiso University soccer coaching staff during the summer of 2008 as an assistant coach.

With the Crusaders, Clark helps with all aspects of the program, from coaching to recruiting.  She has taken over the team’s travel accommodations as well as handling all of the equipment needs for the program.

In her first season on the Crusader bench, 2008, Clark’s defensive experience helped guide the Brown and Gold to a school record 10 shutouts as well as a school-best 0.71 goals against average.

Clark arrived at Valpo from the University of Texas-El Paso, where she served as a graduate assistant for the Miners two seasons.  While a coach at UTEP, the Miners posted a 28-13-2 record.

A fixture on defense during her playing career at UTEP, she compiled 19 points on four goals and 11 assists in 70 matches.  Clark served as a team captain in both 2003 and 2004.

She also excelled in the classroom during her playing days, being honored as a First Team Academic All-American in 2004 as selected by CoSIDA.  She was also a two-time Academic All-District selection.  Clark also earned Academic All-Western Athletic Conference honors on multiple occasions.

Clark has her United States Soccer Federation National “D” License and has received regional and state goalkeeping diplomas from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Clark is a 2006 graduate of UTEP with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and completed her Masters of Education focusing on education administration and leadership at UTEP in 2008.
