Crusaders Win Second Straight, Down Lewis 140-121

Katie Urbas (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette H.S.) recorded a pair of victories as Valparaiso won its second straight dual meet, defeating Lewis 140-121 at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool on Saturday afternoon.

Urbas took home top honors in the 200 butterfly with a convincing five and a half second victory, touching the wall in 2:16.44. The junior also won the 100 fly by nearly five seconds with a time of 1:02.94.

Jennifer Penninga (DeMotte, Ind./Kankakee Valley H.S.) won the 1000 freestyle for the Brown and Gold by more than three seconds, touching the wall in 11:14.56.

Lauren Bambach (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman H.S.) was a two-second victor in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.97 while Daniella Trombatore (Redding, Calif./Shasta H.S.) triumphed in the 100 free (56.95 seconds).

Britt Nelson (Cortland, N.Y./Homer H.S.) cruised to a 6.22 second victory in the 500 free in a time of 5:23.00.

The Crusaders return to the pool next Saturday in Charleston, Ill. as the Brown and Gold battle Eastern Illinois. The meet begins at 1 p.m.
