Valparaiso won three events on Saturday afternoon in Dayton, Ohio, but it was not enough to pull out a meet victory as the Crusaders fell 129-87 to Wright State.
Jaclyn Krause (Rochester, Mich./Notre Dame Prep H.S.) won the 100 freestyle with a time of 55.15 seconds. The junior also finished second in the 50 free, just .10 seconds behind the winner, with a time of 25.34 seconds.
Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.) also earned an event win on the afternoon with a time of 1:03.51 in the 100 backstroke.
The Crusaders wrapped up the day with a win in the 400 freestyle relay as well. Rachel Majercik (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant H.S.), Laura Rickey (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth-Roseville H.S.), Krause, and Grace Arnold (Glendora, Calif./Glendora H.S.) finished with a time of 3:42.42, more than two seconds ahead of the Raiders.
Majercik also finished runner-up individually in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:58.60, less than a half of a second off of the pace. Arnold (touched the wall second in the 500 free with her time of 5:28.09 for the Crusaders as well.
Valparaiso (1-4) will return home on Saturday afternoon for a 1 p.m. meet against Milwaukee at the Athletics-Recreation Center.
