Valparaiso opened a three-meet homestand on Saturday afternoon at the Athletics-Recreation Center dropping a 159-64 decision to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
]The Crusaders opened the meet strong with a victory in the 400 medley relay by the team of Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.), Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.), Rachel Majercik (Schaumburg, Ill./Conant H.S.), and Jaclyn Krause (Rochester, Mich./Notre Dame Prep H.S.).
Majercik and Krause also went 1-2 in the 100 freestyle, with Majercik winning with a time of 54.48 seconds. Krause turned in a mark of 55.82 seconds and then finished second in the 50 free with a time of 25.33 seconds.
Karen Berg (Glendale, Ariz./Deer Valley H.S.) also earned a runner-up finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:04.05, a career-best mark in the event.
Valpo (1-5) will return to the water on December 4 when the Crusaders host Green Bay beginning at 5 p.m. at the ARC.
