The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee spoiled Valparaiso’s women’s swim team’s home opener on Saturday afternoon, downing the Crusaders 120-77 at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.
Natalie Jarrett (Lebanon, Ind./Western Boone H.S.) and Shaunna Dangremond (Tucson, Ariz./Sabino H.S.) turned in a second and third place performance respectively in the 100 backstroke. Jarrett finished in 1:03.73 while Dangremond was just behind her in 1:04.09.
Andrea Bretl (Wauwatosa, Wis./Wauwatosa H.S.) posted a third place finish in the 1000 freestyle with her time of 11:32.33. Erin Owen (Mazeppa, Minn./Zumbrota-Mazeppa H.S.) also turned in a third place effort, doing so in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:03.63.
Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.) added the third best time of the day in the 100 breaststroke with a mark of 1:11.02.
Valparaiso (1-3) will return to action on Friday afternoon as the Crusaders host Cleveland State in a 1 p.m. meet at the Athletics-Recreation Center pool.
