Day two of the Horizon League Championships came to a close Thursday evening in Cleveland, but not before Flavia Segatto (Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charleow Flanigan) made her mark in the 500 yard freestyle.
Segatto stopped the clock at 5:04.21, earning her 12th place in the race. The result was the second fastest time in school history, behind her own record.
The women's 400 yard medley relay team of Ciara Lightner (Dixon, Ill./Dixon), Makenna Cannon (Delafield, Wis./Kettle Moraine), Segatto, and Emily Trimpe (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) secured an eighth-place finish with a 4:01.83 time.
The men's 400 yard medley relay team placed seventh after Matt King (Clinton, Ill./Clinton), Tate Wegehaupt (Tigard, Ore./Tigard), Gonzalo Castro Diaz (Mexico City, Mexico), and Kyle Braun (McHenry, Ill./West) turned in a 3:28.35 finish. The foursome's time was also the second-fastest in school history.
The Horizon League Championships continue Friday at the Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
