2018-19: Qualified for 'C' final in the 400 IM at the MVC Championships, finishing in 21st position ... led Valpo in the 400 IM with a top time of 4:50.02 ... ranked third on the team in the 200 IM (2:24.04) ... also was among Valpo's fastest swimmers in the backstroke events, ranking second in the 50 back (29.01) and third in the 100 back (1:01.68).
2017-18: Moved up Valpo's all-time best charts in four different events as a sophomore ... finished the year second in program history in the 200 back (2:07.74), fifth in the 100 back (59.40), eighth in the 200 IM (2:14.52) and ninth in the 400 IM (4:48.70) ... led the Crusaders in both IM events and the 200 back, and ranked second on the team in the 100 back ... finished 19th at the MVC Championships in the 200 back ... also swam freestyle events as well, posting best times of 56.11 in the 100 free, 1:59.25 in the 200 free and 12:07.20 in the 1000 free ... ranked third on the team in the 200 free.
2016-17: As a rookie, Tara moved herself into the top-ten list in three different races for the Crusaders. Her 100-back time of 59.42 was fast enough for fifth-best all-time and second-best on the team. In the 200-back, she made her way up to sixth all-time, with a time of 2:12.98 which was the best on the squad. With a time of 2:15.49, she moved into ninth in the record book in the 200-IM. That was also the top time on the team. Tara contributed to the backstroke leg of both the 200- and 400-medley relays at the Horizon League Championships. The 200-medley relay finished with a time of 1:47.10, which moves it into third all-time in Valpo history. With a total time of 4:01.50 in the 400-medley relay, she helped make it the fifth-fastest all-time.
Prep: Four-year letter winner for the Mustangs…IHSA state qualifier in the 100 backstroke…North Suburban Conference All-Academic 2015-2016…10 year Mundelein Mustang swim club member…two-year letter winner in water polo…2016 Honorable Mention All-Sectional…National Honors Society member…honor roll student.
Personal: Daughter of Christie and Mark Lawson…major is business management.
