Valparaiso’s women’s swimming and diving team suffered a 143-76 setback at the hands of UIC on Saturday afternoon in Chicago, Ill.
The Crusaders managed several runner-up finishes on the afternoon, but the Flames were victorious in each event.
Kristy Shew (Terre Haute, Ind./North Vigo H.S.) posted a season’s best time in the 500 freestyle to finish with the second best time overall, turning in a 5:25.84.
Amy Andracki (Arlington Heights, Ill./Prospect H.S.) also had the meet’s second fastest 100 breaststroke mark, posting a time of 1:10.08.
Valparaiso (0-7) will return to the pool on Sunday in Fishers, Ind. as the Crusaders face Butler, Youngstown State, Ball State, and Eastern Illinois. The first event begins at 12 p.m. CST.
