Crusaders Announce Fall Golf and Tennis Schedules

The Valparaiso men’s and women’s golf teams will play in seven events apiece this fall, while the men’s tennis team will compete five times and the women’s tennis team three times as the Crusaders released fall 2012 schedules for all four sports Thursday morning.

The men’s golf program will be the first to kick off fall action, as it competes starting this Sunday, Sept. 2 in the three-day Battle in the Tetons, hosted by Weber State. The Crusader men’s golf team will also play in tournaments hosted by Purdue, Bowling Green, Kansas State, DePaul and Chicago State before closing out the fall campaign Oct. 22-23 at the Dayton Invitational.

The Valpo women’s golf team begins fall play on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the two-day IU Fall Kickoff in Bloomington. The Crusader women also plan to travel to tournaments hosted by Green Bay, Chicago State, Ball State, Butler and Missouri State before ending the fall season alongside their male counterparts at the Dayton Invitational.

The Crusader men's tennis team opens the fall slate at Western Illinois' Art Peterson Invitational Sept. 7-8 before traveling to the Purdue Invitational two weekends later. Valpo then stays at home for a pair of weekends, hosting the Valparaiso Invitational Sept. 28-29 before welcoming back alumni for the annual Alumni Tournament on Homecoming Saturday, Oct. 6. The Crusaders' fall action concludes Oct. 18-22 at the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing, Mich.

The Valpo women's tennis program commences fall play Sept. 14-15 at the Ball State Fall Invitational. Two weekends later, the women travel to Chicago to compete in the DePaul Invitational before concluding the fall slate on Monday, Oct. 22 at Wayne State.
