Janssen Named Mid-Con Player of the Week for the Second Time

Valparaiso University freshman Rachel Janssen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Dwenger H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week for helping the Crusaders defeat Evansville last weekend.

The rookie posted a 3-6, 6-4, 10-6 victory at second singles, improving her record to 9-2 in singles play this season. The then teamed with Jill Dierberg (Saint Louis, Mo./Lutheran South H.S.) to post an 8-2 win at third doubles to help the Brown and Gold earn the first point of the match.

The selection marks Janssen's second award of the season, as she also received the honor back on October 14.
