Four Crusaders Earn Academic All-League Accolade

Chris Stohs was one of four Crusaders to earn Academic All-League honors.
The Valparaiso track and field teams had four athletes honored as part of the Horizon League’s Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-League squads for the 2008 campaign.  Rachael Button (Farmington Hills, Mich./Farmington) represented the Crusader women, while Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township), Chris Honig (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South [Indiana]) and Chris Stohs (Shawnee, Kan./Shawnee Mission North) all earned spots on the men’s side....Full Story

Marsicek, Wilson Earn Victories at Outdoor Championships

Emilie Marsicek set a new HL Championship record in the shot put Friday and was named the league's Outstanding Field Performer.
Emilie Marsicek (Spalding, Mich./Carney-Nadeau) set a new school and Horizon League record en route to victory in the shot put, while Melanie Wilson (Saint Louis, Mo./Rosati-Kain) took top honors in the 100m hurdles as the Valparaiso women’s track and field team finished third in its first-ever Outdoor Championships Friday in Youngstown, Ohio.  Marsicek was named the league’s Outstanding Field Performer after finishing the meet with two event victories....Full Story
