Tuesday, February 21, 2006
Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after winning the 3,000m run at the Chicagoland Championships.

Nunnelly registered a time of 9:47.50 over the 3,000m last Friday evening, winning the race by 36.65 seconds. The time marked a personal-best for Nunnelly and also ranked third-fastest this year in the Mid-Con, just two-tenths of a second behind the conference leader.

Nunnelly led Valpo to a 1-2-5 finish in the 3,000m run, as Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest H.S.) and Renae Swift (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) followed her across the line. The trio helped the Crusaders to a fourth-place finish in a 15-team field at the Chicagoland Championships.

Valpo returns to the track Sunday, February 26 in Bloomington, Ill. as the Crusaders take part in the Mid-Con Indoor Championships.
