Lakisha Lane (Topeka, Kan./Highland Park) competed in the preliminary round of the 400m hurdles Friday evening at the NCAA Mideast Regional in Columbia, Mo., finishing her heat in 1:07.81.

Lane, who qualified for the regional by virtue of winning the 400m hurdles at the Mid-Con Outdoor Championships, failed to move on to Saturday's finals, as eight runners from the elite 25-runner field advanced to the finals. Lane was one of just four freshmen among the 25 runners.

Ashley Billstrom (Hales Corners, Wis./Whitnall) will compete in Saturday's 3,000m steeplechase at 6:40 p.m. Billstrom qualified for the regional meet with a time of 10:40.38 earlier this season, which ranks 12th among the 26 runners in the steeplechase field.
