Rolf Earns Academic All-District Accolades

Valparaiso University's Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) has been named to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District V Second Team, as announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Rolf currently holds a 3.33 cumulative grade point average as a graphic design and new media-journalism major. The sophomore earned All-American honors during the indoor track season with a tenth-place finish in the mile run at the NCAA Track and Field Championships. Rolf also received All-Region honors for the second consecutive year during the cross country season, placing third at the Great Lakes Regional and 41st at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.

The honor is the second academic award of the year for Rolf, who received All-Academic accolades from the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for her athletic and academic performance during the cross country campaign.

To be eligible for Academic All-District, student-athletes must hold at least sophomore status, own a minimum grade-point average of 3.20, and be either a starter or key reserve. District V consists of schools in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ontario, and Manitoba.
