Rolf Named Mid-Con Track and Field Athlete of the Week
Wednesday, January 31, 2007
Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) was named the Mid-Continent Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week today after her outstanding performance Saturday at the Findlay Track and Field Classic.

Rolf crossed the line in the 3,000m run in second place out of the 57 participants, finishing only behind an unattached runner. She completed the course in 9:40.48, just four-tenths of a second behind the overall winner and over 37 seconds clear of the third-place finisher. The sophomore's time surpassed the previous meet record by over six seconds, and was the second-fastest time in the event in Valpo history, trailing only former Crusader All-American Collette Liss.

Rolf's time was the fastest this year in the 3,000m run among all Mid-Con runners. Her time was also just six seconds shy of the provisional qualifying time for the NCAA Indoor Championships.
