Bradford Earns Scholar-Athlete of the Week Recognition
Alyssa Bradford earned her first career Scholar-Athlete of the Week honors from the Horizon League.

Valparaiso junior Alyssa Bradford (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) has been named this week’s U.S. Army Horizon League Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for her achievements both on the track and in the classroom.

Bradford helped the Crusaders to a seventh-place team finish at the Chicagoland Championships last week with a pair of podium finishes.  The junior ran a career-best indoor mile time of 5:16.02 to cross the line second, and proceeded to finish third in the 800m run with a time of 2:24.93, a season-best time.

In the classroom, Bradford maintains a 3.98 grade point average as an exercise science and pre-physical therapy major.  She has been named to the Dean’s List and received Presidential academic honors in her time at Valpo, and posted a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2008 semester.  She also has been a member of the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll each of the Crusaders’ three semesters in the league.
