Valparaiso University's Amanda Meyer (Somerset, Wis./Somerset H.S.) has been named women's track and field Athlete of the Week by the Mid-Continent Conference after her performances at the Chicagoland Championships.

Meyer set a meet record and tied the second-best performance in the conference in the pole vault when she cleared 10'6". She then broke her own school record in the long jump with a leap of 16'8". Finally, on the track, she ran a 27.20 second leg in the 4x200m relay.

Meyer and the Crusaders will return to action this weekend when they compete at the Mid-Continent Conference Track and Field Championships in Sterling, Ill.
