Rolf Earns Conference Accolades for Second Straight Week
Wednesday, February 7, 2007
Laura Rolf (Rochester, Mich./Lutheran Northwest) was named the Mid-Continent Conference Women's Track and Field Athlete of the Week after her record-breaking performance in the 3,000m run last weekend at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational.

The sophomore completed the race in 9:22.44, tops among collegiate runners and third place overall out of a field of 51 elite runners. Rolf's time improved on her personal best from the previous weekend by more than 18 seconds and broke former All-American Collette Liss' school record in the event, the first of Liss' four indoor records to fall.

Rolf's time also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships, and was just eight seconds shy of the mark to automatically qualify for the national meet. Her time is also the 13th-fastest time in the 3,000m run among all NCAA Division I runners this season.
