Kelley Freeman (Valparaiso, Ind./Chesterton) took fourth place in the pole vault to lead the Crusader women’s track team on day one of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio.

Freeman cleared 11’5 ¾” to take fourth. Freeman, who was one of four Crusaders to compete on the meet’s first day, garnered five points for Valparaiso.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday for day two of the YSU Mid-Major Invitational as well as at the Meyo Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
