A trio of Valparaiso throwers competed at the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College in Naperville, Ill. on Thursday.

Fresh off winning Athlete of the Year and Field Performer of the Meet at the Horizon League Outdoor Championship last weekend, senior Sarah Drozdowksi (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) finished third in the hammer throw with her toss of 51.17m/167-10 on her third attempt.

The men’s duo of senior Jacob Frey (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville Area) and junior Jacob Smutz (West Lafayette, Ind./Harrison) took part in the hammer throw and discus at Benedetti-Wehrli Stad/Jay & Dot Buikema Track. Frey took second in the hammer (56.96m/186-10) and 14^th in the discus (42.61m/139-9) while Smutz finished fourth in the hammer (56.03m/183-10) and 11^th in the discus (43.48m/142-8), respectively.
