Track and Field Teams Conclude Outdoor Season at MVC Championships
The Valparaiso University track and field teams concluded their outdoor season at the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships in Carbondale, Ill. Grace Aurand (Highland, Ind./Highland) was impressive in her first collegiate outdoor final, competing in two events on Sunday and moving up in the program record book in one of them.

Maidment Earns All-MVC Honors to Highlight Day 2 of Track & Field Championships
Will Maidment (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) earned all-Missouri Valley Conference honors in the men’s high jump to lead the Valparaiso University track & field teams on the second day of the MVC Championships in Carbondale, Ill. Maidment’s mark tied for third in program history and ranked third in the event.

Track and Field Teams Open Up MVC Championships
The Valparaiso University track and field teams competed in the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships in Carbondale, Ill. on Friday. The day was highlighted by senior Dominic Paoletti (Monroe, Mich./Monroe St. Mary) bettering his own program record in the 10,000-meter run, while Grace Aurand (Highland, Ind./Highland) and Eric Carothers (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) both cracked the top-5 in program history in the 1,500.

Track & Field Tunes Up for Championships at Pacesetter Invitational
The Valparaiso University track & field teams competed in Terre Haute, Ind. at the Pacesetter Sports Invitational on Friday. Junior Eddie Juszczak (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) led Valpo on a day where Valpo had numerous top-10 finishers. This marked the final tune-up prior to the Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Championships.

Valpo Produces Strong Showing in Home Meet
The Valparaiso University track & field teams hosted the Valpo Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Warren G. Hoger Track, the program’s first home meet since 2018. Valpo boasted a plethora of first-place finishes, plus one student-athlete cracked the top 5 in program history in his event and another bettered his own top-5 placement. Milwaukee and Purdue Fort Wayne joined Valpo in the field of competing teams.

The Valparaiso University track & field teams competed at the Gibson Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind. on Friday. Eric Carothers (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) led the way for the Brown & Gold, collecting the highest individual finish on the day as the team boasted four top-10 finishers.

Maidment Wins High Jump, Mikolajczak Climbs in Program Record Book
The Valparaiso University track & field teams competed in both the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Meet and the Benedictine Invitational on Friday. Senior Will Maidment (Woodstock, Ill./Woodstock) won the high jump at Benedictine to pace the Valpo men, while Lauren Mikolajczak (Bloomingdale, Ill./Montini Catholic) climbed to second in program history in the hammer throw for the women. In addition, Dominic Paoletti (Monroe, Mich./Monroe St. Mary) moved up in the program record book in the outdoor 5,000-meter run and T.J. Weinzimmer (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) cracked the all-time Top-5 in the outdoor triple jump on a day filled with personal bests for Valpo student-athletes.

Distance runner Dominic Paoletti (Monroe, Mich./Monroe St. Mary) collected a first-place finish in the 5000-meter runner, while senior thrower Lauren Mikolajczak (Bloomingdale, Ill./Montini Catholic) climbed to third in program history in the hammer.

The Valparaiso University track & field teams competed in the second day of the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa. TJ Weinzimmer (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) recorded a fifth-place finish in the triple jump to account for Valpo’s highest finish of the day.

Paoletti Earns All-Conference Honors at MVC Indoor Championships
Senior Dominic Paoletti (Monroe, Mich./Monroe St. Mary) continued his strong season in distance events for the Valparaiso University track and field team on Friday, providing the highlight of the team’s opening day of competition at the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The senior had the team’s highest individual finish on the day by placing third in the 5000-meter run, earning all-conference honors in the process.

The Valparaiso University track & field and cross country teams were in action this weekend, tuning up for their respective conference championships. Valpo received numerous standout performances on Saturday as the distance runners participated in the GVSU Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., while the remainder of the squad made its way to Terre Haute, Ind. for the Indiana State Invitational.

At long last, the Valparaiso University track & field teams embarked upon their first meet of the 2021 spring season on Saturday at the Snowdown Showdown, hosted by Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich. Valpo distance runners began their season last week with a trip to GVSU, while the remaining track & field student-athletes made their long-awaited season debuts on Saturday.
