2020 MVC Scholar-Athlete Team

2020: Had one of the most accomplished seasons by a female runner in recent memory… Finished top-5 in all five of her entries in the 400-meter dash, beginning with a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash on Dec. 6 at Notre Dame’s Blue & Gold Invitational… Lowered the program record in the 400-meter dash three times… Set the Valpo record for the 600-meter dash on Jan. 17 with a time of 1:38.29, finishing first in the event at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic… Set the program record in the 400-meter dash at 57.08 on Feb. 15 the GVSU Big Meet… Lowered her record 400 time to 56.73 on Feb. 22 at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational… Also at Alex Wilson, ran Valpo’s second-fastest 200-meter dash ever with a 25.44… Lowered her record once more in the 400 on March 1 at the MVC Indoor Championships when she ran a 56.67 and finished fourth, and now holds an indoor 400 time more than a second faster than any other runner in program history.

2019: Recorded a team-best time in the indoor 200-meter dash (26.32) in her first meet with Valpo, finishing third in the event at Notre Dame’s Blue and Gold Invitational on Nov. 30. That time is the fifth-best in Valpo program history… Had the team’s best indoor 400-meter dash time of 1:00.09, which she ran for a second-place finish the GVSU Tune-Up on Feb. 15… Competed in four events at the MVC Indoor Championships, including the first leg of Valpo’s season-best 4x400-meter relay, the 400-meter dash (1:02.37), the 200-meter dash (26.70), and the distance medley relay… Competed  in the 200-meter dash (25.99, April 13) and 400-meter Dash (58.89, April 27), ranking in the Top 5 in program history in both events. Was a part of the 4x100 meter relay team and the 4x400 meter relay team.  

Carroll University (2017-2018): Transferred to Valpo for the 2019 season after spending the previous two years at Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis… Achieved the 4x4 record with a time of 3:52:03 on her way to becoming an Academic All-American in 2017… Established a school record in the heptathlon in 2018 with 3551 points.

Prep: Placed second at state in the 4x2 in 2014 before finishing third in that event at state in 2015… Qualified for state in 2016 in the 4x4… Set school records in the 4x2 (1.41.97, 2014) and 4x1 (49.46, 2015)… Was a four-year varsity letter winner in both track and field and cheerleading… Won a 2016 state championship in cheerleading.

Personal: Majoring in nursing… Daughter of Amy and Steven Fischer… Born on July 23.
