2023-24: Earned an at-large NCAA Regional berth for the second straight season... Named the 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Golfer of the Year... Earned All-MVC First Team honors for the fourth straight season... Named to the Division-I PING All-Midwest Region team by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA), one of 25 players named to that team, the only MVC golfer represented and one of two golfers from non-power-5 institutions to receive the honor... Earned the MVC Elite 17 Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest GPA among top finishers at the MVC Championship, for the fourth straight year... Named the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the fourth straight season while also once again earning a place on the MVC Scholar-Athlete First Team... Named the Valparaiso University Male Athlete of the Year and earned the department’s Bill Steinbrecher Sportsmanship Award... Had a season-low round of 66 (-6) on two occasions, the first round of the Valpo Fall Invitational on Sept. 18 and the first round of the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate on April 1... Won medalist honors four times this season, winning the 120-player Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational hosted by Air Force (Sept. 10-13), the 63-player Valpo Fall Invitational (Sept. 18-19), the 80-player Mobile Bay Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama (March 24-26) and the 78-player Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State (April 13-14)... Also earned runner-up honors in the 93-player GCU Invitational (March 12-13) and the 100-player Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in addition to the MVC Championship, where he finished as the runner-up in a 50-player field with a 54-hole score of 211 (-5)... Closed out the season and his collegiate career by tying for 23rd of 75 with a 54-hole score of 217 at the NCAA West Lafayette Regional from May 13-15... Named the MVC Golfer of the Week six times this season and a conference-record 19 times in his career... Finished in the top 10 in eight of his 12 tournaments including seven top-2 finishes... Tied for the sixth-best 18-hole score in modern program history at -6 in the first round of the Valpo Fall Invitational on Sept. 18 and the first round of the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate on April 1... Tied for the second-best 36-hole tournament in terms of overall score in modern program history at 137 at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in April... Turned in a 36-hole score of 138 at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in February, ranking fifth in modern program history for 36-hole tournament in terms of overall score... His 36-hole tournament score in relation to par of -7 at the Golfweek/AGT Intercollegiate in April ranked second in modern program history, while his score of six under at the Dorado Beach Collegiate in February ranked third in that category... Turned in the second-best 54-hole tournament in terms of overall score in modern program history at the Valpo Fall Invitational in September, finishing with a 201... Set the modern program record for a 54-hole tournament in terms of overall score at -15 at the Valpo Fall Invitational... Posted a 54-hole tournament score of 203 at the Gene Mirada Falcon Invite in September that ranks fifth in modern program history in overall score, a 204 at the GCU Invitational in March that ranks seventh in that category and a 205 at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in March that ranks eighth... In addition to his record-setting showing at the Valpo Fall Invitational, had among the program’s best 54-hole tournament scores in relation to par in program history at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite in September (-13, tied for third), the GCU Invitational in March (-9, tied for eighth) and the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in March (-8, tied for 10th)... Finished his career owning six rounds of 66 or better, four rounds of six under or better, four 36-hole tournament scores that rank in the program’s modern top 10, four 54-hole tournament scores that rank in the program’s modern top 10 and five 54-hole tournament scores in relation to par that are etched in the program record book as part of the modern top 10...  Earned the Valparaiso University Alumni Association (VUAA) Distinguished Student Award... Garnered the Dean’s Award for the graduate college and received Valparaiso University Presidential Academic honors.

2022-23:
Became the first at-large NCAA Regional qualifier in program history… Shattered the modern program record and led the Missouri Valley Conference with a season scoring average of 71.08… Named a First Team Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators, becoming the first player in program history to earn that honor and Valpo’s 15th all-time First Team Academic All-American in any sport… Golfed 36 rounds over 12 tournaments… Posted 10 top-10 finishes including three top-5 performances… Named MVC Golfer of the Week twice this season, lifting his career total to 13, the third most in MVC history… Had a season-low 65 (-6) in the second round of the Rutherford Intercollegiate, a mark that ranks tied for third in program history in 18-hole score… Had a 66 (-6) in the second round of the Island Resort Intercollegiate, a score that ranks tied for eighth in the program record book… Was the individual runner-up in each of the season’s first two tournaments – the Island Resort Intercollegiate and Valpo Fall Invitational… Had a season-best 54-hole score of 207 (-9) at the Island Resort Intercollegiate in September, a score that ranks tied for fifth in program history… Earned the Laurel Award (given to the graduating senior student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade point average), Dean’s Award, Top of the Class Award and Presidential Academic Honors at the department’s annual academic honors banquet.

2021-22:
Won the MVC Elite 17 Award, which is presented to the individual with the highest GPA among top finishers at the MVC Championship, for a second straight season... Repeated as the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year in addition to earning All-MVC status for a third straight season... Shattered his own program record for single-season scoring average at 71.35 and now owns the top three single-season scoring averages in modern program history... Achieved par or better in 20 of his 34 rounds while golfing in all 13 events... Season scoring average ranks fifth in the MVC record book (since 2003)... Finished his junior season with a career scoring average of 72.04 that sits atop the program record book... Boasted nine top-5 finishes in his 13 tournaments this season... Earned individual medalist honors in a 41-player field at the Dove Mountain Intercollegiate (Feb. 28 – March 1)... Also tied for first at the Spirit Hollow Fall Shootout and had three runner-up finishes, all in fields of more than 65 golfers... Six-time MVC Golfer of the Week this season and lifted his career MVC Golfer of the Week total to 11, becoming just the fifth player in conference history to win 11 career MVC weekly golf honors... Stroked a season-low 67 (-4) in the second round of the Zach Johnson Invitational on Sept. 27, tied for the seventh-best 18-hole score in modern program history... Tied for the third-best 54-hole score in modern program history with a 208 at the Zach Johnson Invitational... Also ranked in the top-10 in the Valpo record book for 54-hole score with a 211 at the Dove Mountain Intercollegiate... Posted a pair of 36-hole tournament scores that rank in the top 10 in program history in that category with a 140 at the Butler Spring Invitational and a 141 at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate.

2020-21: Earned All-MVC honors for a second consecutive season… Tabbed the MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year… Named the MVC Elite 17 Award winner, a prestigious honor that is presented to the individual with the highest grade point average among the top finishers at the MVC Championship… Posted a team-best 72.59 scoring average while golfing all 22 rounds over eight events… Turned in five top-5 finishes while boasting a team-best nine rounds of par or better… Named the MVC Golfer of the Week on three occasions… Finished with the second-best single-season scoring average in the program’s modern history (since its 2009 relaunch), narrowly missing his own mark of 72.57 from 2019-20… Finished his sophomore season atop the Valpo record book in career scoring average at 72.58… Had a team season-low round of 68 (-4) in the second round of the Lewis Flyer Intercollegiate on Sept. 28… Went on to post three more rounds of 68 during the season: Round 1 at Twin Oaks (March 22), Round 3 at Wright State (Aug. 19) and Round 2 at Butler (March 29)… Earned individual runner-up honors in a 108-player field and led the team with a 209 (-4) at the Twins Oaks Intercollegiate (March 22-23). That ranked tied for fourth in modern program history in 54-hole individual low in terms of overall score and tied for seventh in relation to par… Again led the team and posted his second straight individual runner-up nod, this time in a 70-player field at the Butler Spring Invitational (March 29-30). His 54-hole score of 210 (E) ranked tied for sixth in program history in overall score… Earned his first career individual medalist honor in the 87-player Wright State Invitational (April 18-19) by turning in a 210 (-3), again tied for sixth in 54-hole tournament low and tied for 10th in relation to par. That marked his third straight tournament as either an individual runner-up or medalist… Only two individuals in the program’s modern history (Nick Seitz once, Peter Webb three times) had achieved 54-hole scores of 210 or better before VanArragon did it in three straight tournaments… Led the team with his fifth top-5 finish of the year at the MVC Championship (April 26-27) in Flossmoor, carding a 224 over 54 holes… The performance in Flossmoor marked his ninth career top-10 finish… Earned MVC Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award, MVC Academic Honor Roll and Valparaiso University Presidential Academic Honors… Named College of Arts & Sciences Dean’s Award recipient, an honor presented annually to the student-athlete with the highest GPA in the College of Arts & Sciences... Named the Valparaiso University Bill Steinbrecher Sportsmanship Award winner as part of the department's annual ARC Awards... Named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team.

2019-20: Led the team and shattered the modern program record for single-season scoring average with a 72.57 in 21 rounds over seven tournaments during his freshman campaign… Paced the team in five out of seven tournaments and enjoyed 12 rounds of par or better… Led the team with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6) at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate over Labor Day Weekend, earning MVC Golfer of the Week honors following his first collegiate event… Golfed a season-low 69 (-3) in the third round of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite on Sept. 8, on his way to leading the team with a 212 (-4), his first career Top-10 finish at t-sixth/104. That mark tied for seventh in program history for 54-hole tournament low… Was the tournament runner-up at the Zach Johnson Invitational (216, +3) on Sept. 30- Oct. 1, coupling with teammate Garrett Willis for a sweep of the top two individual spots in a 75-player field… Equaled his 54-hole tournament season low with a 212 (-4), stringing together three straight rounds of par or better (70-71-71) at the Invitation at Savannah Harbor in February. He placed third of 99 to help Valpo to the team title in the 19-team event… Was named the MVC Golfer of the Week on Feb. 19 for the second time during his freshman season following his showing at Savannah Harbor, which joined his Gene Miranda Falcon Invite performance in a tie for seventh in program history in 54-hole tournament low… Once again led the team while compiling another Top-10 finish in what turned out to be the final event of the year on March 9-10 at the Orlando Invitational. He finished tied for sixth of 69, his fourth Top-10 finish in seven tournaments in 2019-20... Became the first Valpo golfer to earn All-MVC honors... Became the first Valpo golfer to earn a major award after his freshman season since Peter Webb was named Horizon League Freshman of the Year in 2014. 

Prep (Athletic): Qualified for the 2019 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship… Three-time Northwest Suburban Conference champion… Was a Top 10 finisher in the Class 3A state tournament… Won five varsity letters… Was a two-time Section 5AAA champion… 2017 Minnesota Junior PGA Champion… 2018 Minnesota State Junior Boys Championship winner… 2018 Minnesota State Open 10th place… 2018 Minnesota Public Links Championship runner-up… 2018 Minnesota Golf Champions fourth place (low amateur)… Ranked as high as the No. 1 high school golfer in Minnesota at the end of the 2018 season… 2018 Minnesota Golf Association Junior Player of the Year… Lowest 18-hole round was a 63, first shot at the TPC Invitational in 2017, setting the Minnesota state high school 18-hole scoring record... Stroked a 63 for the second time at the 2017 AJGA Otter Creek Junior Championship.  

Prep (Academic): Finished second in his graduating class with a GPA of 4.26… Was a three-year member of National Honor Society… Competed on the Blaine High School math team… Wrote for the Blaine High School newspaper, the BHS Blueprint… Was a member of the Blaine High School Knowledge Bowl Team.

Personal: Son of Raymond and Janel VanArragon… Sister Kathryn also plays golf and won the 2018 High School state tournament as a seventh grader… Hobbies include reading and participating in church youth group… Majoring in statistics and biology.
