The Valparaiso University Athletics Hall of Fame will induct six new members on Feb. 4 as part of the Class of 2012. This year’s class consists of Katie Bova, Homer Drew, Dr. James Malayter, Lauren Moulton, Tom Smith, and Russ Steinbeck, and will be the 15th since the Hall of Fame began in 1998.
Nominations will be accepted through this Friday, October 14, to be included in the pool of candidates for the Valparaiso University Hall of Fame Class of 2012. Former student-athletes that completed their eligibility in 2005-2006 and prior are eligible. Teams from 2000-2001 and earlier are also eligible to be nominated.

Three prominent Valparaiso athletic figures were among 30 people honored by The Summit League on Tuesday, as the league released its list of Top 30 Distinguished Contributors from the Division I era, in honor of its 30th Anniversary Season. The Athletics-Recreation Center will be getting an upgrade this summer, as a YESCO four-sided ceiling hung display sign, featuring video boards on all four sides, will be installed above center court in the arena, home of Valparaiso's men's and women's basketball and volleyball teams.
Ten Valparaiso University student-athletes received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Awards as selected by Diverse: Issues in Higher Education magazine. The award recognizes minority undergraduate students who have made achieving both academically and athletically a winning combination.
