Crusaders Raising Money as Part of Breast Cancer Awareness Activities

The Valparaiso University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be raising money for the American Cancer Society at home events throughout the next month as part of its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

SAAC will be manning tables at seven different sporting events over the next few weeks, selling t-shirts as well as accepting donations for the cause. The Crusader teams will also be supporting breast cancer awareness, wearing pink jerseys, socks, hats and shoelaces, as well as showcasing pink in other ways.

The events at which fans can support breast cancer awareness start this weekend here at home.  Swimming will be participating at its season opener this Saturday, Oct. 3 at the ARC. Other teams participating over the next month include volleyball (Oct. 9), men’s tennis (Oct. 16-18), football (Oct. 17), men’s soccer (Oct. 28), women’s soccer (Oct. 30), men’s basketball (Nov. 3) and bowling (Nov. 6-8). In addition, women’s basketball will be hosting its annual Pink game on Feb. 6.
