Klos Moving On From Athletics After Decade of Service

The Valparaiso University athletics department would like to recognize Adam Klos, Assistant Director of Athletics for Event Management, for his service to the Crusader student-athletes and athletic programs over the last decade as he moves to a new role on campus outside of athletics.

“We really can’t say thank you enough to Adam for the job he’s done over the past 10 years,” said Mark LaBarbera, Director of Athletics. “He brought a tireless, selfless effort to the position, as well as genuine concern for and devotion to our student-athletes to provide them the best experience and opportunity to compete.”

Klos, a 2002 graduate of Valparaiso University, joined the athletic department staff in October of 2006. In his role as Assistant AD for Event Management, Klos has been responsible for overseeing game management operations for Valpo home events. He also coordinated the scheduling and maintenance of all Valparaiso University athletic facilities, and served as supervisor for the Crusader pep band, cheerleaders and Crusaderettes.

In his time at Valpo, Klos has helped the athletic department host Horizon League Championships in baseball (2010, 2015), men’s basketball (2012, 2013, 2015), cross country (2007), men’s soccer (2011), women’s soccer (2014), softball (2012) and track and field (2016). Under his watch, the Crusader men’s basketball team hosted a trio of games in the postseason NIT in 2016, as well as CIT postseason contests in 2011 and 2014.

Klos also served with the Horizon League as a member of the Competition Advisory Committee, as well as the scheduling sub-committee. In his work at the league level, Klos functioned for two seasons as the league’s administrative liaison to the tennis championships.
