Quintin Smidzik Added to Valpo Sports Medicine Staff

Head Athletic Trainer Nate Twedt has announced the addition of Quintin Smidzik (MEd, LAT, ATC) to the Valparaiso University Sports Medicine staff. Smidzik will serve as the athletic trainer for the Valpo softball program.

Smidzik has spent the last two years as a graduate assistant at Wichita State University, working with the Shockers softball program. He graduated from Wichita State in May 2020 with his Master of Education in exercise science.

Prior to his time at Wichita State, Smidzik was an undergraduate athletic trainer at Iowa State University, where he earned his bachelor of science in athletic training in 2018. He worked with the Cyclones softball program during his time at Iowa State. Smidzik also worked as an athletic training student with the football programs at both Iowa State and Drake during his undergraduate tenure.

Smidzik has earned numerous certifications and awards and is a member of several athletic training associations and societies. In addition to his duties with the Valpo softball program, Smidzik will work with track & field during the fall months.
